How do you reward the Rock Stars in your organization? Give them an award that truly sets them apart. Not just any award. A custom award that they will treasure throughout their careers.
ROBYN Promotions was recently contacted by a client who wanted to reward their Rock Stars for “Turning It Up To 11” throughout the previous fiscal year. The reference, of course, was to the 1984 cult classic mockumentary, This Is Spinal Tap, where guitarist Nigel Tufnel explained that his Marshall amps were better because while “most blokes” could turn their knobs all the way up to 10, sometimes we need that “extra push over the cliff” and “These go to 11.”
The AMA OKC did “Turn It Up To 11” last year and asked ROBYN to design a custom award that reflected their theme and rewarded their Rock Stars, the Board of Directors. So, we developed an amp…
What about your organization? You’re doing remarkable things, too. Perhaps you should think about turning your awards program up to 11, as well. It’s not as hard as you might think!
How to develop a custom award program:
Start with a theme. To create the special moment that surrounds the idea of recognition, you need to make your award unique and, therefore, more highly coveted. By customizing your award and tying it to a theme, you create a memorable moment. Most award programs are tired, boring plaques (acrylic, wood, or even crystal) that do not communicate a uniqueness that conveys you are special.
Plus, custom awards are exclusive – a rarity… something that adorns only a few walls or shelves. Make your recipients feel the significance of their achievement by developing something unique.
Determine your budget. Often times, our clients do not know what type of budget to allocate for awards programs. No problem. Our experienced professionals can help determine an appropriate budget (based on the award) and can even offer options in various ranges to give you an idea of where you should be for your cost. The important part is not the dollar amount, though. The imperative is to develop something distinct and exclusive – a creative award that reflects the remarkable accomplishment of the recipient.
Time. If at all possible, give yourself time to create an awards program that stands out. Awards are the kings of the branded products recognition space. We provide branded merchandise to delight and surprise our audiences. Awards are meant to make them feel head and shoulders above their peers.
ROBYN does awards in a big way. The next time you’re ready to reward the Rock Stars in your organization, give us a shout. We’ll help YOU turn it up to 11, too!
