Make Clients Fuel (oops, we mean Feel) Better…
There’s no point in bellyaching about the pain at the gas pump because everyone is feeling it. But at ROBYN, we think an energy-focused campaign will improve your mileage with clients.
First, think awareness. Show your company’s concern by planning a promotion that illustrates a commitment to better energy efficiency. If you’ve put in place measures to conserve energy – whether by improving insulation, keeping thermostats set at the recommended 78 degrees or setting up a car-pooling club – let your customers and prospects know! A simple mailing or bill-stuffer that includes the message, “We Care About Energy Efficiency” will help you go the distance when you add an branded product.
Next, a favorite promotion these days if you want to build traffic or capture customer information is to conduct a drawing for free gas. You can give away a set dollar amount (e.g., “Win $500 Worth of Gas”) or promise to fill the tank of the winner for a specified period (“We’ll fill your tank for three months!”). Pump-shaped key tags are an excellent tie-in. Pass them out or mail them to everyone who fills out an entry form.
Another idea: Consider sending key clients a cookie jar shaped like a gas tank to announce the drawing, along with a note asking, “How would you like us to put some cash in your cookie jar?” The hook: They enter the drawing by agreeing to a sales presentation in which you outline how your company saves their company money and fuels their business with good ideas. Or give miniature gas tank-shaped analog clocks as a gift with a “test drive” of your products/services (along with an entry form).
